Job Title: ACLS/PALS Instructor

Department: Community Education

SUMMARY

Responsible for teaching ACLS and PALS courses approved by the American Heart Association according to established curriculums.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Delivers high-quality educational experiences for participants.

Effectively communicates with participants and clerical co-workers.

Completes required paperwork and educational components for classes.

Considers age-related factors in care, education, and evaluation of patients ranging from neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The following certifications could include, but are not limited to: Certified through the American Heart Association as an ACLS and PALS instructor. Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse.
