Chemist II
Overview
The Chemist II position is responsible for routine testing of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples utilizing current Compendia, cGMPs, cGLPs, SOPs.
Position supports other departments for special projects as needed. Position performs other laboratory duties as directed.
Responsibilities
-Performs physical testing and chemical testing of incoming raw materials, finished product, and stability samples utilizing instrumentation such as disintegration, dissolution, Auto-titration, and UV-VIS.
-Follow cGMPs, cGLPs, Compendia, and SOPs.
-Perform general lab duties as assigned, for example: replenish test reagents, clean lab, wash glassware.
-Perform routine maintenance checks/calibration verifications of equipment.
-Support method validation and other departments for special projects as requested.
-Gather, interpret, and review analytical data
- Must be able to prioritize and organize testing of incoming samples in order of priority to maximize output.
-Clean assigned areas of the lab and maintain an audit ready status.
-Able to train others on specific instruments or techniques trained and proficient in.
-Conduct investigations of any out of specification results
-May assist in completing SOP updates
Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related science
-1 Year analytical lab experience (academic or professional)
-2 years in cGMP environment
-Must have experience in HPLC, GC, ICP or ICP-MS.
-Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of spectroscopy and general wet chemical procedures.
-Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of general wet chemistry procedures
-Must have knowledge of how to work safely with and around chemicals and their potential hazards
-Uses effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
-Accurately record and document results following documentation guidelines for cGMP industry
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Has high ethical standards
-Models and supports organizations goals and values
-Must be able to work overtime as required
