Job Description
The Digital Foundational Services (DFS) Lead works across the GAHM IT organization to provide enabling services and support to ensure effective service delivery to the business and that enable innovation. Key areas of focus that the DFS Lead will manage include operations, risk & compliance management, lifecycle management including technical debt management, modernization and resiliency, threat detection and cybersecurity, architecture and core Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure at the site level.
The DFS Lead is responsible for ensuring all of these enabling functions are set up to support the different Digital Manufacturing Operations (DMO) and Value Teams (Manufacturing, Quality & Supply Chain) as required to enhance the overall effectiveness of the service provided to the business. There will be a specific focus on providing subject matter expertise and ensuring best practice approaches, tools and techniques are used consistently across product lines and the GAHM IT organization more broadly.
This leader will be highly aware of current technological best practices across the bio-pharmaceutical industry and will work with other leaders across our IT and GAHM organizations to design, implement and support best-in-class platforms that will accelerate our digital transformation across our manufacturing, quality management, and supply chain areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Partners with the DMO and Value Team Leads and the broader GAHM IT and global IT organizations to develop the Enablement Team's strategy, roadmap, and associated business value
- Develops best practice approaches to the key enabling functions (operations, risk & compliance management, lifecycle management including technical debt management, modernization and resiliency, threat detection and cybersecurity, architecture and core OT infrastructure at the site level) and ensures consistent excellence in service is provided to the rest of the GAHM IT organization
- Allocates team members across product lines and sites to execute on high value opportunities/business outcomes as per the requirements of the DMO and Value Teams, to ensure successful delivery of product line capabilities which deliver and maximize on business value realized from all investments
- Creates & maintains IT operations and lifecycle management plans for infrastructure, application, and automation components, including support of manufacturing and lab operations, to keep our digital solutions and platforms stable, compliant, secure and predictable, and demonstrates continuous improvement in the associated operational metrics, capabilities and processes
- Leads our modernization and resiliency program to reduce our technical debt
- Creates & maintains IT risk and compliance plans for GAHM IT organization to increase and solidify cyber security posture
- Collaborates closely with IT security to define appropriate protections and security for the OT layer at the site level
- Owns all site manufacturing critical infrastructure (OT layer) globally
- Serves as a digital innovation thought leader in digital solutions, data and analytics, with cloud and data platform enablement
- Understands and predicts emerging technology, service and functionality trends as well as comprehends business adoption of emerging service and business model
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with leadership and stakeholders to achieve key objectives and deliverables through building relationships and credibility within the organization
- Collaborates with DMO and value team leads in proof-of-concept development and piloting technical and operational solutions. Manages deployment projects and provides technical expertise in resolving challenging technical problems
- Works cross-functionally, including with enterprise functions, to deliver digital capabilities, drive adoptions, and achieve key performance objectives and strategic goals. Leverages insights / resources from digital Manufacturing Division as appropriate and ensures a close working relationship
- Adopts a 'continuous improvement' mindset and approach to ensure the enablement functions continue to evolve with the needs of the GAHM IT organization

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology/Science or a computer related field, MS or MBA preferred or equivalent experience attained through industry
- 7-10 years of technology product management and/or IT leadership with experience in a Manufacturing and Supply Chain domain, prior experience in Life Sciences and several years of experience with a significant P&L responsibility (of up to $25m)
- Demonstrated superior management skills as well as communication skills that emphasize collaboration in a matrixed organization and ability to align the organization on complex decisions
- Experience with digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, data analytics, automation, as well as cross-discipline in Application Development, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Support, Engineering, and Architecture
- Ability to synthesize and solution design information, architectural principles, available technologies, third-party products, and industry standards to formulate a system architecture that meets business requirements and can be delivered within the desired timeframe
- Extensive knowledge of the broad spectrum of quality specific digital/technology areas, including technology trends, forthcoming industry standards, new products, and the latest solution development techniques; ability to leverage this knowledge to formulate technical solution strategy
- Has strong business knowledge and ability to connect business strategy with IT / OT, aligning the organization on complex technical challenges
- Experience in product and people management (e.g., in an organizational unit with 10+ team members)
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Experience in business case creation and articulation and communicating and influencing senior stakeholders up to and including C-Suite. Builds a strong network for sharing expertise and to the enterprise digital strategy.
- Knowledge of Agile with previous experience working in an Agile product model in a matrix organization, using lean manufacturing principles to drive teams which execute consistently, rapidly, and effectively
- Experience building, motivating, and developing highly capable diverse international teams; championing and maintaining a respectful, inclusive professional culture where all are equally able to succeed as their natural, authentic selves

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5,2023 our U.S. Hybrid work model will be as follows: 1. Three total days on site per week: Tuesday and Wednesday - plus one additional day of choice based on what works best for organizations and/or teams. 2. Fridays will formally be a remote-working day unless business critical tasks require onsite presence.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$159,200.00 - $250,700.00
