LOCUM or CONTRACT Primary Care Float Physician - Family Practice or Internal Medicine, San Antonio, Texas
Health By Design, a Medici company is actively seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to work on a CONTRACT or LOCUM basis for approximately 90 days. Will provide primary care services, floating between our clinics in the immediate San Antonio area. 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. NO evenings, NO weekends, NO call and NO after-hours charting.
Our beautiful out-patient clinics provide direct primary care, annual wellness assessments, executive exams, concierge services, wellness events and health and nutritional coaching. Our Primary Care Physicians practice medicine free from the volume-based pressures and metrics of fee-for-service billing, gaining more time with patients, which means improved compliance, better care coordination, healthier patients, and happier providers!

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited United States School of Medicine; MD or DO
- Board Certified / Board Eligible required
- Current unrestricted Texas license from the Texas Medical Board
- Current DEA Certificate
- BLS - Basic Life Support Certification

Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients in order to meet their needs
- Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients
- Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
- Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
- Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care
- Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
- Orders studies, test, and ancillary services
- Documents all services in patient medical record in eCW
- Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention
- Consults with Physician Lead, Director of Medicine, and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issues
- Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Health by Design
- Assists as needed in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
- Assists in the development, production, and presentation of medical education, material, lectures, and mixed media presentations for patient and medical staff
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
- May be assigned to multiple clinic sites as mutually agreed upon with CMO and Director of Medicine
- May require on-call responsibilities
Education: Graduate of accredited US School of Medicine; MD or DO
Experience: Minimum of two years of direct work experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current license to practice in state of clinic location
- Board Certification / Board Eligible (Family or Internal Medicine)
- Current DEA Certificate
- BLS - Basic Life Support Certification
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette
- Performs in a tactful and professional manner
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
