MRI Technologist

As the MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies. Insures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, it trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
  • Produces high quality diagnostic images.
  • Orders supplies, cleans units, assists in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
  • Trains new technologists and/or PCs.


EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
  • ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
  • State license, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
  • Technologists registered in other modalities - 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
  • MR registered technologist RT(MR) or ARMRIT - No experience required.
  • The ability to work at various locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.


Preferred:

  • Associate's degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
  • 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
