NP/PA, Breast Care Center (Per Diem)
Purpose of Position
The provider will collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing evaluation, treatment, and surgery for breast conditions, including cancer. The provider should have a strong background in women's health, oncology, and surgical care and a passion for patient-centered care.
Description
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exam, and diagnostic evaluations for patients with breast health concerns.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging results, biopsy reports, and laboratory tests, and communicate findings to the patients and the surgical team
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
4. Serve as a point of contact for patients, addressing concerns, answering questions, and coordinating care across the specialties.
5. Assist in surgical clinics, performing procedures such as breast exams, drain removal, suture removal, and wound care.
6. Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate, in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
7. Works closely with breast surgeons, oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiologists, breast navigators, and support staff to ensure a seamless, coordinated care experience.
8. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and tumor boards to discuss patient cases and treatment plans .
9. P erforms outpatient office visits to include new patients, routine follow-up, and acute care.
10. Order and interpret lab and radiology results and formulate a medical care plan according to protocols. Daily medical management of inpatients in collaboration with physician.
- Collaborate with Breast Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer of CCH on implementing and refining this position and defer to their decisions regarding programmatic and administrative priorities and assignments.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of clinical work performed and complete billing encounter sheets on a timely basis.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and CCH medical staff privileges as a Breast Surgery NP/PA.
- Collaborate closely with the attending surgeon ("immediate physician supervisor") of the patient to whom they provide services. The NP's scope of practice is always limited to the scope of practice of the immediate physician supervisor.
- Be able to work well under pressure, be patient-focused, work independently, and know when and how to ask for help.
- Communicate effectively and participate actively on the health care team.
- Comply with CCH Medical Staff By-Laws, Rules and Regulations, Human Resource policies, and CCH Corporate compliance policies.
18. Provides hospital call coverage, as needed, for the supervising physician
19. Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING (NP) :
• (MSN) - Master of Science in Nursing
• ( CNP ) - Currently licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• (DEA) - US Department of Justice DEA Registration (required if prescribing)
• (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 30 days of position start offered within)
• (ACLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 30 days of position start, offered within)
• (Preferred) - 3+ years' Breast Care service-line experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING (PA) :
• (MPAS) - Masters from a program accredited by the ARC-PA
• (PA) - Currently licensed as a Physician's Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• (DEA) - US Department of Justice DEA Registration (required if prescribing)
• (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 30 days of position start offered within)
• (ACLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 30 days of position start, offered within)
• (Preferred) - 3+ years' Breast Care service-line experience
