Nursing Staffing Coordinator
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Walking, standing and sitting for extended periods of time while on duty.
- Frequent reaching and handling of equipment, records and reports.
- Must understand and adhere to good body mechanics and facility approved transfer techniques.
- Must have a means to communicate effectively and possess good vision in order to perform duties.

- Responsible for general secretarial support to the nursing unit.
- Orders office supplies and office equipment as needed and maintains an adequate level of supplies on hand.
- Interacts professionally with other departments to obtain or distribute information as required, exhibiting a willingness to be helpful whenever possible.
- Maintains nurse's station in a neat and orderly manner.
- Facilitates patient flow by managing admissions and discharges in EPIC. Manage patient menus
- Performs all related duties as assigned.
- Assumes responsibility for coordinating with Nursing Administration scheduling of nursing staff, covering call outs and maintaining accurate staffing sheets.
- Works collaboratively with other staffing coordinators and nursing leadership to maintain appropriate staffing levels at all sites. This includes floating, canceling or rescheduling staff.
- Schedules per diem staff for appropriate shifts according to the per diem guidelines and maintains personnel files.
- When indicated, and with administration approval, books agency personnel for appropriate shifts and maintains personnel files for agency staff.
- Maintains accurate and up to date daily staffing sheets.
- Maintains staff attendance and sick time.
- Cancels agency and per diem staff per established guidelines by administration to maintain appropriate patient/staff ratios.
- Works with the department of education to schedule staff in education offerings as appropriate or required for specific job.
- Is responsible for assisting nursing administration with payroll accounting/data bi-monthly. Assists administration in having current licensure records.
- Communication
- Answers incoming calls, in-house and out, in a professional manner, projecting courtesy and helpfulness at all times.
- Assists caller by answering questions when possible, taking accurate messages or transferring caller to appropriate person when necessary.
- Nursing Departmental Operations
- Is responsible for assisting nursing administration with payroll accounting/data bi-monthly. Assists administration in having current licensure records.
