Part-Time Psychiatrist

Family & Children's Agency (FCA) is a nonprofit human service organization that is committed to increasing the social and emotional well-being of our clients - people throughout Fairfield County. Our Agency builds better lives by offering more than 30 programs that meet needs across all ages, delivering services to more than 13,000 people each year. Our clients reside primarily in Norwalk, Wilton, Darien, Westport, Weston, New Canaan, Stamford, and Greenwich. Our Home Care and Foster Care programs provide assistance to residents throughout Fairfield County, and the Adoption program is both nationwide and international.

The outpatient behavioral health department offers a wide range of clinical services including, comprehensive assessment, individual, family and group therapy to a diverse population. It also provides case management services when needed. The purpose of the program is to assist clients in reaching their optimal level of functioning, individually and in their family and community.

We are searching for 1 or 2 part-time Psychiatrists join our Behavioral Health Services Department. These positions are contracted positions that have flexibility with hours and schedules based on an agreed upon schedule. The goal would be 1-2 days per week. The role has the opportunity to provide in person or to conduct sessions through telehealth. Compensation based on experience.

The psychiatrist is responsible for providing consultation and review, diagnosis, prescribing and monitoring medication when indicated, and facilitating hospitalization for child, adolescent and adult clients. This includes approving the appropriateness of the level of care provided under the clinic's license by approving assessments, treatment plans and discharge plans in our Electronic Health Records. Will attend weekly IICAPS "rounds". In addition, the psychiatrist will collaborate with staff, participate in case conferences, and provide clinical guidance when needed.

  • Board certified with the American Medical Association, Child & Adolescent Board Certification is a plus
  • Experience with treating clients in an out-patient setting
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain current malpractice insurance
  • Maintain current licensure and provide copies of updated insurance and licenses when they are renewed.
  • Bilingual, Spanish speaking is a plus.
