Pay Rate: $1562.66 - $1722.11



Unit Information:
Beds:
Census: 32 average patients
Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Telemetry experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Unit Culture: Just, patient centered, teammates engaged, hostility free, collegial behaviors only, supportive and non-retaliatory
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
COPD, CHF, Chest Pain, MI, N-STEMI, Stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia.
Post surgical and medical patients
This unit has a wide variety of Medical and Surgical patients r/t overflow unit status
Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:5
LPN (if applicable): 1:5-6
CNA: 1:8-9
Required Licensure & Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required:
Cardiac skills/cardiac rhythm interpretation, basic non-titrated cardiac drips (Cardizem and Amiodarone), General Med-Surg skills – trach care, wound care, drain and tube management, etc.
Support within the Department:
CNA: Nursing support, ADLs, Ambulation, pt’s cares, meal assist, all duties as assigned
Receptionist/HUC? Yes
Charge nurse? Yes, generally w/o patient assignment with additional Team Lead support
Phlebotomy? Yes
IV/VAT Team? Yes
Resource Nurse? Team Lead & Clinical Supervisors on the unit acts as support to team and Charge RN
RT 24/7? Yes
Hospitalist 24/7? Yes
Intensivist 24/7? In ICU
Telemetry monitoring/tech? Yes, centralized for all units to 4th floor location 24/7
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: Epic
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: General med-surg equipment and tele monitors
Floating:
Within region and scope of practice
Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children’s Hospital)
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
