Section Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Section Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the department with an emphasis on producing timely and quality laboratory test results.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.

Certification:

MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MLS(AMT) or equivalent certification. Must meet CLIA education requirements for a general supervisor for high complexity testing. Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.

1. Training and Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in clinical laboratory. Supervisory experience preferred.

1. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

1. Requires ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
2. Job requires extended periods of standing, walking, and use of stairway.
3. Job involves exposure to bio-hazardous materials, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases.
